Three Minutes

Throughout my journey with anxiety one piece of information I have learnt has helped me significantly in the past and still today.

FACT: It only takes three minutes for your body to fill with adrenalin as can be experienced in the ‘fight or flight’ response felt during anxiety or panic – similarly it only takes three minutes to regain that control and for the adrenalin rush to subside, therefore ceasing the emergency message you are sending your adrenal glands and stopping your panic attack in its tracks.

It is possible for you to stop the effects of a panic attack in three minutes.

Learning this gave me more motivation and control at the onset of anxiety and has led to any anxious periods I have becoming much shorter in duration. Knowing this was possible gave me power and confidence in myself at times when anxiety threatened to take it away. For those of you that didn’t know this information already I hope that through you adding it to the armory you have built up to fight your anxiety, it can do the same for you.
